Abstract
⺠Saltbushes always resprouted vigorously after being browsed by the sheep flock. ⺠Grazing constrained saltbush growth in volume, but made shrubs more compact. ⺠Fodder production and the percentage of fodder in shrubs were not affected by grazing. ⺠Grazing increased the moisture content of shrub shoots in the summer. ⺠Overall, Atriplex halimus responded very positively to repeated seasonal grazing.
