Abstract
⺠We studied geographic trends in body mass and water economy the olivaceous field mouse in Chile. ⺠Body size of the olivaceous mouse did not vary along a very long latitudinal gradient. ⺠We observed a better tolerance to water shortage in population from the xeric habitat. ⺠With increased desertification rodent would be able to show flexibility in water economy.
