Abstract
► There were no differences in species richness or abundance among shoreline types. ► Riparian zone type did not affect fish species richness or abundance. ► Instream microhabitat was more important than riparian zone or shoreline type. ► Natural shorelines were underrepresented and should be explored in greater detail. ► Shoreline restoration projects should include modifications to instream habitat.
