Abstract
⺠We review the management history of muskellunge in Buffalo Harbor and Niagara River. ⺠Ecosystem changes influenced populations more than reductions in angler harvest. ⺠Year-class production was much higher in the Niagara River than Buffalo Harbor. ⺠Ecosystem monitoring and a formal muskellunge management plan are needed.
