Abstract
► Diporeia persists in the six deepest Finger Lakes of New York despite dreissenids. ► Trophic parameters explained much of the variability in Diporeia abundance between lakes. ► Palmitoleic acid (16:1w7) tracked diatom-based diet of Diporeia in Owasco Lake. ► Only at dreissenid mussel abundance > 10,000/m2 was impact on Diporeia observed.
