Abstract
► The Laurentian Great Lakes are used as an example of invasional meltdown. ► Dreissena facilitate population growth of non-indigenous and native species. ► Dreissena equally facilitate native and non-native invertebrates and macrophytes. ► Invasional meltdown interactions are possible in only half of the cases analyzed. ► Dreissena facilitate many species, but invasional meltdown is not occurring.
