Abstract
⺠We conducted the first dynamic stock assessment of chambo in the SEA of Lake Malawi. ⺠CPUE and estimated biomass were highly correlated with changes in lake height. ⺠High lake levels linked with greater nutrients via upwelling and nearshore processes. ⺠Fishing pressure was the main driver determining the abundance of chambo.
