Abstract
⺠Flow-transverse bedforms cover much of the bed and appear weakly mobile. ⺠Secondary flows appear to affect the transport of fine sediment in suspension. ⺠Only sand-sized sediment was capable of being transported by the measured flow. ⺠The coarse sediment in the channel undergoes slow downstream movement. ⺠Short-lived turbulence from ship-propellers may move the coarse sediment.
