Abstract
► Flow-transverse bedforms cover much of the bed and appear weakly mobile. ► Secondary flows appear to affect the transport of fine sediment in suspension. ► Only sand-sized sediment was capable of being transported by the measured flow. ► The coarse sediment in the channel undergoes slow downstream movement. ► Short-lived turbulence from ship-propellers may move the coarse sediment.
