Abstract
This study addressed the effect of aspect on spatial variability of some of soil physicochemical properties in Central Iran. Two north-facing and south-facing slopes were selected and 102 topsoil samples were randomly collected. Results showed that the spatial distribution and spatial dependency level of the same soil attributes were different in two aspects. Regarding to the kriged maps, only trends of soil pH and silt percentage were more or less similar for both aspects. Our findings suggest that local-scale soil variability in different aspects could grow unstably over time and bring about an unstable and chaotic condition for soil pedogenesis.
