Abstract
⺠Cr speciation in sediment pore water contaminated by tannery effluent was studied. ⺠Dialysis cells, or peepers, were used to collect sediment pore water samples. ⺠ICP-MS and HPLC-ICP-MS were used to determine [Cr(total)], [Cr(III)], and [Cr(VI)]. ⺠Peepers are simple and have good reliability for consistent results. ⺠Results show an absence of Cr(VI) and strong reducing conditions at the study site.
