Abstract
⺠Elemental sulfur can serve as electron donor for drinking water denitrification. ⺠Mixotrophic denitrification is faster than sulfur-based denitrification. ⺠Mixotrophic denitrification process decreases sulfate production. ⺠Sulfur-based autotrophic process needs external alkalinity supplementation. ⺠Mixotrophic denitrification can eliminate the need of alkalinity supplementation.
