Abstract
► Reactions of hexabromocyclododecane with reduced sulfur species were investigated. ► Reaction rates of HBCD with polysulfides and bisulfide were determined. ► γ-HBCD reacts faster than α-HBCD. ► Two degradation products were observed. ► Sulfur species are sufficiently reactive as to control fate of HBCD in anoxic environments.
