Abstract
► Vast MWCNTs are discharged into the environment due to their wide application. ► Mutual effect of Cd(II) and 1-naphthol sequestration on MWCNTs is investigated. ► The uptake of Cd(II) is greatly enhanced by the coexistent 1-naphthol. ► The uptake of 1-naphthol is not influenced by the coexistent Cd(II) in solution. ► Discharged MWCNTs greatly influence the migration trend of Cd(II) and 1-naphthol.
