Abstract
⺠Tokamachi gas shows signals of subsurface hydrocarbon biodegradation. ⺠Hydrocarbon molecular fractionation depends on gas flux. ⺠Substantial gas emission from mud volcanoes is from invisible diffuse seepage. ⺠Global mud volcano methane emission is likely higher than 10 Mt aâ1.
