Parameters of current waveforms of several negative flashes measured recently at Morro do Cachimbo Station were considered in relation to the values provided by a statistical evaluation developed previously for the data of a 13-year period of data acquisition. The impact of these recent measured parameters in the median values of peak-current, front-times and time-to-half-peak-current was evaluated.
►Parameters of lightning currents of negative flashes measured recently at Morro do Cachimbo Station are presented. ►The recent statistics is compared with that of a former study for a 13-year period. ►The median first-stroke peak current preserves the value of the former study, around 45 kA. ►The median subsequent-stroke peak current is increased from 16.3 kA to around 17.6 kA. ►The front-times are decreased for both first- and subsequent-strokes.
