Abstract
⺠Image texture measures explain up to 51% of variability in avian species richness. ⺠Landscape composition metrics explain up to 56% variability in avian species richness. ⺠Landscape metrics were slightly superior to texture measures in most models. ⺠In forested areas, texture measures were complementary to landscape metrics. ⺠Texture measures performed similarly in habitats with varying vertical complexity.
