Abstract
⺠We examine the first unequivocal case of autochthonous Aturia assemblage.⺠Aturia lived in upper bathyal zone at 250-350 m. ⺠Oxygen isotope ratios show nektobenthic life of Aturia at all stages of its ontogeny. ⺠Newly hatched and adult Aturia probably lived in depths where the eggs were laid. ⺠Evidence of capacity of fossil cephalopods to exploit/tolerate oxygen-depleted waters.
