Abstract
⺠An analytical model is developed for predicting flow into a partially penetrating well in a patchy confined aquifer underlain by an impervious barrier. ⺠The model takes into account flow through the bottom of the well, non-uniform flow at the well face, finite horizontal and vertical thickness of the aquifer and can also be reduced to include the mixed-type boundary condition at the well face.⺠The developed model can be utilized to estimate the hydraulic parameters of a confined aquifer by using results obtained from a typical pumping test.
