Abstract
⺠High frequency radar measurements reveal transient tidal eddy motions. ⺠Numerical circulation model simulate near-coast eddy motion formation. ⺠Observations show that model over-predicts currents due to weak bottom friction. ⺠Phasing of sea level tilts and friction generate phase eddy motion. ⺠Eddies signal the change of tidal flow.
