Abstract
⺠Tidal flow conditions the hydrodynamics and salinity of water in the wetland. ⺠In natural areas surface water and groundwater show a saline stratification. ⺠Tidal wave range and fluctuation are the main variables regulating wetland hydrology. ⺠In human-altered areas the levels and salinity of water show no periodic variations.
