Abstract
⺠Changes in sediment permeability affect sediment oxygen consumption. ⺠Clogging of pore spaces can impact permeability and therefore sediment metabolism. ⺠Influence of temperature and carbon content on metabolic processes is confirmed. ⺠Resuspension and storm events are necessary to maintain high remineralization rates.
