Abstract
► We present a numerical solver for long term sand wave growth and dynamics. ► With the new numerical approach the limitation on the domain size is lifted. ► Results show that small initial random disturbances can cause sand wave field variation. ► The solver shows comparable qualitative behaviour with field data. ► The model is promising as a tool to investigate the effect of physical processes.
