Abstract
⺠We present a new application of radioisotope geochronology for sandy sediments. ⺠Traditional measurement approaches are not suitable for coarse-grained environments. ⺠Significant levels of 239+240Pu are measured in near-shore sands using ICP-MS. ⺠Particle mixing depths in sandy environments can now be measured directly using bomb fallout 239+240Pu.
