Thermal and haline variability over the central Bering Sea shelf: Seasonal and interannual perspectives

► We examine variability in Bering Sea shelf heat and fresh water budgets using multi-year CTD data. ► Late summer heat anomalies result from advection anomalies in summer. ► Anomalous advection over the previous fall/winter correlate with summer freshwater anomalies. ► Advection anomalies are wind-forced due to variations in the Aleutian Low.
