Abstract
⺠New dietary information on a large, abundant oceanic squid. ⺠Myctophid fish dominate the diet in most Southern Oceanic pelagic squid. ⺠Squid digestive gland lipid content correlates with local productivity. ⺠Spatial and short-term temporal dietary trends detected. ⺠Squid lipid parameters can monitor complex ecosystem dynamics and change.
