Abstract
⺠We study the requirements for stable double inlet systems draining a single basin. ⺠Entrance/exit losses and ocean tidal amplitude differences are a prerequisite. ⺠Entrance/exit losses should be considerably larger than bottom friction. ⺠Larger ocean tidal amplitude differences require larger energy losses.
