Abstract
⺠We describe observations of optical properties in coastal waters. ⺠Total light scattering increases linearly with particle cross sectional area. ⺠Light absorption depends on particle thickness (or diameter) as well as area. ⺠Remote sensing reflectance at 2 wavelengths can give both area and size of particles.
