Assessment of a simple function to evaluate the relationship between mass flux reduction and mass removal for organic-liquid contaminated source zones

► A simple function for characterizing mass-flux-reduction/mass-removal behavior was modified. ► The modification incorporated a mass-removal dependent exponent to account for dynamic conditions. ► Measurable system parameters were used to dynamically inform the exponent. ► Incorporated parameters included source zone cross-sectional, GTP ratio and relative permeability. ► The modified function was tested successfully using flow-cell data.
