Abstract
⺠We examined redox-sensitive element distributions in Hudson Bay sediments. ⺠Distributions imply low mineralization rates of organic matter in sediments. ⺠Accumulation rates of authigenic Cd, Re, U, and Mo are among lowest reported. ⺠Low rates indicate Hudson Bay is oligotrophic compared to other marine margins. ⺠Sedimentary redox tracers provide a way to compare rates of organic forcing among ocean regions.
