Abstract
⺠PAH constituents induce alterations in thiol redox state (TRS) in gills of mussels. ⺠Ph and An could deplete both GSH and protein free thiols (PSH) levels. ⺠TRS alterations are linked with the loss of lysosomal membrane and DNA integrity. ⺠TRS impairment could lead to the formation of lipid peroxidation (LPO) products. ⺠Ph and An could induce immunological and neurodegenerative disorders.
