Abstract

âº We compare two analysis methods to estimate the impact of sound on marine mammals. âº Differences in the number of behavioral harassments from each method are assessed. âº The static distribution method assumes a fixed spatial distribution of mammals. âº The animat method assumes dynamic mammals moving in space and time. âº The static distribution method underestimates harassment relative to the animat method.
