Abstract
SummaryThe authors are grateful to Dr. Zekai Şen for his keen interest in the paper and providing several comments on our paper [Lohani A.K., Goel, N.K., Bhatia K.K.S., 2006. Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy system for modeling stage-discharge relationship. J. Hydrol. 331, 146–160]. The discussion raises some interesting points and the comments and our response should be of benefit to others who might wish to employ suggested Takagi–Sugeno (TS) fuzzy model. The content of Dr. Şen’s discussion on this paper indicates that there is a need to explain certain aspects of the subtractive clustering based Takagi–Sugeno model development in greater detail. The following discussions follow the order of Dr. Şen’s comments.
