The Kurosh problem for Jordan nil systems over arbitrary rings of scalars

We show that quadratic Jordan nil algebras of bounded degree, and, more generally, quadratic Jordan nil algebras satisfying a polynomial identity, are locally nilpotent. We also extend these results to Jordan pairs and triple systems.
