Abstract
In this paper we transform the “projective plane” presentation of the Monster sporadic simple group into a new form and verify the relations on explicit generators found using the 2-local computer construction of the Monster. This could in principle be used as part of a new, computer-based, proof of existence of the Monster, independent of that of Griess.
