Abstract
We study the class of completely splittable representations of the symmetric group and its associated degenerate affine Hecke algebra in positive characteristic, using techniques developed by Okounkov and Vershik for the symmetric group over the complex numbers. The representations are classified and constructed, and we provide a character formula in the symmetric group case.
