Abstract

A graph product of groups is a construction which generalizes both free products and direct products of groups. In this paper, we study commuting elements in graph products of groups and find explicit formulas for the centralizer (the subgroup consisting of elements which commute with a given element) of elements of a graph product of groups in terms of the centralizers of elements in each vertex group and the structure of the graph.
