Abstract
Let A be a weakly chained diagonally dominant (wcdd) M-matrix, an upper bound for ‖A-1‖∞ is presented and further applied to establish an lower bound for the smallest eigenvalue of A. Effectiveness of the new upper bound is shown numerically.
