Abstract
Let wiâC (1â¤iâ¤n) and lâSn, the symmetric group of all permutations of 1,2,â¦,n. Suppose Al is the weighted cyclic matrix Alâ¡(0wl(1)0â±â±wl(nâ1)wl(n)0) and w(Al) denotes its numerical radius. We characterize those ζâSn which satisfy w(Aζ)=maxlâSnw(Al). The characterizations for unilateral and bilateral weighted (backward) shifts are also obtained.
