Abstract
We consider the eigenvalue problems for boundary value problems of second order difference equationsequation(1)Δ(ri−1Δyi−1)+λaiyi=0,1⩽i⩽n,y0=yn+1−δyn=0, andequation(2)Δ(ri−1Δyi−1)+μbiyi=0,1⩽i⩽n,y0=yn+1−δyn=0. Comparison results for the eigenvalues of the problem (1) and the problem (2) are established.
