Abstract
The classical Blasius flow and its variation, Sakiadis flow, are investigated by the fixed point method (FPM), and the semi-analytical solutions are obtained. Different from early perturbation series solutions, the present semi-analytical solutions are valid in the whole region without using matching procedure. Moreover, these solutions can correctly provide the asymptotic property of the governing equations. The comparison of the present results with numerical results is carried out, which reveals that FPM is a convenient and effective tool for nonlinear problems.
