Abstract
The flow, concentration and speed of a traffic system are meaningful only as averages. The kinds of averages to be employed vary. In some instances it is correct to use arithmetic averages, in some harmonic averages and in still others only space or time averages are suitable. The relationship between flow of traffic in vehicle and the concentration in vehicle is a result of the interaction, which occurs between vehicles. This paper focus on maximization of flow rate at a given continuous traffic stream using entropy maximization technique. Finally, a numerical example is provided in support of our technique.
