Abstract
The concept of high-order balanced multiwavelets is generalized to the dilation factor a, a ⩾ 2, a â Z setting. Some equivalent relations of high-order balanced multiscaling functions with dilation factor a are obtained. Based on the relations, an algorithm for constructing orthogonal balanced multiwavelets with dilation factor a is presented.
