Abstract

The boundary conditions at an interface between a viscoelastic solid half-space and a micropolar elastic solid half-space are solved for incident longitudinal microrotational wave propagating through micropolar elastic medium and for incident SH wave through viscoelastic medium. The reflection and refraction coefficients of various reflected and refracted waves are computed for a particular model of two different materials in welded contact. These coefficients are shown graphically with angle of emergence of the incident wave for general viscoelastic, Maxwell and Voigt materials as viscoelastic solid half-space.
