Abstract

We examine the method of Cartesian product to construct cubature formulae on the unit sphere and obtain a kind of new Lobatto formulae. Furthermore, by constraining nodes to lie on orthogonal polynomials, an alternative method of producing new cubature formulae on the spherically symmetrical region is also presented. Finally, some new cubature formulae are derived.
