The Neumann problem in cylinders becoming unbounded in one direction

We consider the Neumann problem in a cylinder for a linear elliptic equation and we are interested in the asymptotic behaviour of this problem as the length of the cylinder goes to infinity. We prove that under very weak assumptions on the data, the solution of this problem converges to the solution of a Neumann problem in the infinite cylinder, the rate of this convergence being exponential.

RésuméOn considére dans un cylindre le problème de Neumann pour une équation elliptique linéaire et on étudie le comportement asymptotique de ce problème lorsque la longueur du cylindre tend vers l'infini. Sous de très faibles hypothèses sur les données, on montre que la solution de ce problème converge vers la solution d'un problème de Neumann dans le cylindre infini, la vitesse de convergence étant exponentielle.
