Abstract

The sectional approach is usually advocated for solving coagulation of atmospheric aerosols. This article aims at reviewing and benchmarking some widely used sectional methods. A rigorous framework is proposed and the focus is put on differences and similarities among the approaches. The sensitivity with respect to the computation of the partition coefficients is investigated. The dynamical behavior of coagulation is also studied.
