Abstract
It is shown that restrictions on color-selected subcomplexes stronger than color-shifting cannot be placed on the class of colored complexes without changing the characterization of the flag f-vectors. In particular, it is not possible to make further progress toward a numerical characterization of the flag f-vectors of color-shifted complexes through stronger restrictions on the color-selected subcomplexes.
