Abstract
Let G be a countably infinite discrete group and let βG be the Stone-Äech compactification of G. Let I denote the finest decomposition of Gâ=βGâG into closed left ideals of βG with the property that the corresponding quotient space of Gâ is Hausdorff, and Iâ² the finest decomposition of Gâ into closed left ideals of βG. We show that there is a dense subset of points pâGâ such that (βG)pâIâ²âI. In particular, Iâ² is finer than I.
