Abstract
A simple method is presented, which allows us to construct several examples of non-weakly Whyburn product spaces. In particular, a partial answer to questions by Pelant et al. is given. Further, we prove that CpCp(X) being Whyburn implies X is finite, solving thus a problem by Tkachuk and Yaschenko.
