Abstract
⺠The physico-mechanical properties of first-year level ice are studied. ⺠The uniaxial compressive strength spatial and temporal variabilities are examined. ⺠The strength variability correlated with the variability in the sample salinity. ⺠The strength variability is mainly influenced by the brine localization and the distance between the samples.
